Aldi Weekly Meal Plan (Sunday–Saturday): Easy, Budget-Friendly Family Dinners + Meal Train Ideas

Welcome back to another Aldi meal plan! After my grocery trip today, there’s only one thing Aldi was out of: canned baked beans. So I’ll be making those from scratch this week - wish me luck.

Here’s a cozy, real-life Aldi meal plan for your week—full of simple dinners, shared meals, and a little extra margin for serving others (we have a meal train obligation later in the week!).

Weekly Meal Plan (Sunday–Saturday): Aldi Edition

Sunday – Small Group Dinner (5:30pm)

This Sunday is small group night! We’re gathering with friends over breakfast food and the Word, and I’m bringing Mini Dutch Babies with Strawberries & Maple Syrup.
A simple, budget-friendly dish that still feels special—just eggs, milk, flour, and a little butter, topped with fresh strawberries and maple syrup.

Monday – Chicken Marinara & Parmesan Cutlets

Served with roasted Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. I’m using Aldi chicken breasts, a jar of marinara, sliced mozzarella and some leftover parmesan from last week, plus potatoes and fresh Brussels: simple pantry and fresh staples that go a long way.

Tuesday – Pulled Pork Sandwiches

We had these recently and Tucker requested them again, so here we are! Aldi makes great pre-marinated BBQ pork. I’ll serve these with (homemade!) baked beans, green beans, and chips.
This is an easy “stretch meal.” You could swap the pre-marinated pork with a pork shoulder in the slow cooker with BBQ sauce can last multiple meals if needed!

Wednesday – Dinner at Church

Our Wednesday Fellowship Dinners are almost over at church! We always break for the summer, and I’ll be missing the consistent fellowship (and not having to cook once a week!). This Wednesday’s Menu is a church favorite: poppyseed chicken, green beans, wild rice, and strawberry pie.
Such a gift to have a midweek meal provided—this is one of my favorite ways the church supports families during the school year.

Thursday – Tuna Melts & Tuna Wraps (Plus Any Leftovers!)

An easy, low-cost meal using canned tuna, mayo, and whatever bread or wraps we have on hand. I’ll add cheese for melts and lettuce for wraps, simple and flexible depending on what needs to be used up. Plus, it’s kind of fun to pull out all the week’s leftovers and see what I can throw together!

Friday – Eating Out + Meal Train Cooking

We’re going out to celebrate my brother-in-law’s birthday!
But we’re also making a meal train dinner for friends who just had a baby.

On the menu for them:

  • Shepherd’s Pie (double batch—so they have plenty to eat!)

  • Garlic knots

  • Bagged salad

  • Cookies

  • Energy bites for the nursing mom <3

I’m so grateful to serve dear friends in this way - what a blessing to share my family’s favorite meal with another, especially in those special newborn days.

Saturday – Salmon Bowls & Leftovers

My husband recently came to me and offered to stop our weekly pizza nights. I stopped eating Aldi pizza with him a few months ago - I just always felt so crummy after eating them (even though in the moment, it was DELICIOUS). But we’re 30 now - pizza once a week feels like a young man’s game. ;)

So we’re having salmon bowls and leftovers. I have leftover frozen salmon from last week, and a can of salmon in the pantry. We’ll reheat whatever else is left in the fridge and make it a smorgasbord night!

This week feels like a good example of how I try to live fully with what I have—leaning on simple ingredients, accepting help when it’s offered, and making room to serve others along the way.

What’s cooking in your kitchen this week? Happy stewarding!
